Motown Rebranding
To rebrand a dead, defunct or dying brand and revive it into a new life visually.
Motown used to be the Sound of Young Americans and played an important role in the Civil Rights Movement as an African-American-owned company. It has achieved cultural crossover success. However, it declined in the late 80s and disappeared from the performance stage. Part of the reason was that it had fulfilled its mission—bringing Black music to the mainstream music industry.
My project, New Motown will come back with
a new vision and mission to motivate, nurture and inspire artists to find their voices and to have their voices heard. From performance art to visual art, Motown will build a sustainable growth community within African-American community by helping artists to succeed.
